Reserve a Face to Face or Virtual In-Class Field Trip (ICFT) when you would like for a Central GYSTC employee to co-teach with you in person or provide a lesson via a virtual platform on a particular standard. To schedule an In-Class Field Trip, please use the form below or contact Howell_LR@mercer.edu a minimum of two weeks in advance.

Kindergarten SKL1.a Living versus Nonliving Compare and contrast living versus nonliving things and develop models.

Kindergarten SKE1.a, b Little Owl's Night and Day Students will discuss day/night and sort objects seen during the daylight. Students will complete their own day/night storybook.
1st Grade S1L1.a Parts of a Plant Students will design and build a plant using information they have learned about roots, stem, leaves, and flowers. (EDP)
1st Grade S1P1.a, b, c Shadow Monster Students will design and create a shadow monster and investigate its shadow while moving it in front of a flashlight. (EDP)

2nd Grade S2P1.a Mystery Matter Students will classify objects into solids, liquids, and gases depending on their properties.
2nd Grade S2P2.a, b, c Rosie Revere's Flying Machine Students will listen to the story Rosie Revere Engineer read by a NASA astronaut. Students will then work through the (EDP) to design a flying machine for Rosie Revere. Students will build a simple "flying" machine to fly on a zip line as they investigate aspects of force and motion.
