January 27, 2018 – Adventures In Archaeology

9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Cost: $25.00

Kids will become junior archaeologists to learn about the ancient people who once lived at an archaeological site. They will collect artifact replicas from a reconstruction of a 9000-year-old house and then analyze them to learn about the daily life of the people who lived there. Students will also have the opportunity to examine stone tools, pottery, and animal bones, as well as other artifacts.

March 24, 2018 – GYSTC Saturday Science in the Park at the Atlanta Science Festival

11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Cost: FREE

Come join us at Atlanta’s biggest interactive science event in Piedmont Park.  This event is FREE and open to adults, families, and children of all ages and interests. The Exploration Expo promotes science exploration, discovery and innovation with more than 100 interactive exhibits, hands-on experiments, mind-blowing demos and performances!


 

April 14, 2018 – Creative Coding For Beginners

9:00 a.m.12:00 p.m., Cost: $25.00

Students will be introduced to basic coding concepts using Scratch, the innovative programming language created just for kids by the MIT Media Lab. Students will have an opportunity to explore the skills used to create animations, interactive stories, games and more.
