Alec Johnson is a science and STEM education leader dedicated to helping students and teachers bring real-world problem solving into the classroom. Alec has served as a teacher, a PBL coach, an instructional coach, a district science curriculum specialist, and a GSTA District 2 Director, and now serves as the Regional Coordinator for Oconee River GYSTC. He partners with school districts across the region to expand hands-on, inquiry-based learning through professional development, student competitions, and innovative STEM programs, including mobile planetarium visits and field-based learning experiences that bring science outside the classroom walls. Known for his work in science education at the local, state, and national level and a lifelong passion for learning, Alec brings curiosity, energy, and real classroom experience to every school he supports. He enjoys nothing more than supporting students and teachers as they discover the wonder of science and STEM together.
