GYSTC’s Holiday celebration this year was to pack STEM “kits” for Clay County Middle School students and Children’s Hospital of Atlanta -Egleston patients. The theme for our celebration was celebrating with service and needing STEM Santas to help in our workshop. Many of our State Board Members volunteered their time to help pack backpacks and assemble kits.

In September, Siemens made a very generous donation of 300 Chromebooks which we will be sharing with a few high-need school systems in our state, one being Clay County. Each Chromebook will come with a backpack containing swag from KSU and Siemens and the created home kits to go along with some STEM challenges we are loading onto the Chromebooks (so they have some non-internet-dependent activities).

Additionally, kits for Children’s Hospital of Atlanta – Egleston were packed with a simple activity that patients can do with their families safely in that setting.

We want to say thank you for the continued support from our GYSTC Board of Directors and the Siemens Foundation.
