Sail Away
Wind is moving air. We can use the energy in the wind to do useful things. For example, we have been using wind power to sail ships for thousands of years. In this Simple STEM Activity, your task is to construct a model of a sailboat that can sail using the power of a portable fan. You should design your sail to capture as much of the energy of the fan generated wind as possible. Let's see how far you can sail away.
Key Concepts: air, wind, power, force, motion, energy.
