Straw Kazoo

Vibrations are the cause of the sound. Objects vibrate (straw when you blow into it) and the air around it vibrates. If the air is vibrating fast enough, you may actually hear the sound. If you were to change the length of your straw, you would change the sound.

​In this Simple STEM Activity, the student’s task is to build a straw kazoo that changes in pitch when the straw is cut.
